SOCC currently has three OC-6 canoes:
- Our oldest canoe is an older model Bradley named “Elua Kekoa”. We just had some major work done on her and now the canoe is in great shape and ready for many more miles of happy paddling.
- Our second oldest canoe is a Force Five named “Po’anuenue”. The canoe is in excellent shape and it is our favorite canoe to race the Gorge, as she seems to ride those swells better than any other. The canoe is a bit tighter in all of the seats in particular in the front seat and therefore it is often preferred by women’s crew.
- Our newest canoe is a Striker Bradley and is named “Alohinalu”. The canoe is in great shape and will serve us many more years to come.
OC-1 and OC-2:
- We also have an Outrigger Connection “Viper two” OC-2 canoe and a Fusion OC-1 available for club use at the beach. Only experienced paddlers can take these small canoes out and they have to perform a huli drill and pay an extra fee before they are allowed to take these canoes out. In the colder time of the year the OC-1 and OC-2 paddlers are required to always wear a lifevest and in the summer they need to bring one along on the canoe to satisfy Coast Guard rules.
